Why A group Intensive?

A Different Approach to Healing

Traditional weekly therapy can be incredibly valuable, but some experiences benefit from dedicated time and space for focused healing. Our group intensives combine the power of an evidence-based EMDR group protocol, the support of a small group, and the guidance of two experienced facilitators to create a focused healing experience.

More Focused than Weekly Therapy

Set aside dedicated time to focus on your healing. An intensive format allows for deeper engagement and meaningful momentum, without having to spread the work out over months of weekly sessions.

Healing Alongside Others

Trauma and grief can be incredibly isolating. Many participants find comfort in being surrounded by others who understand aspects of their experience, while still having space to focus on their own well-being.

An Evidence-Based EMDR Approach

In each intensive, we utilize a structured EMDR group protocol, designed to help participants process distressing experiences in a safe and supportive environment. EMDR Therapy is a well-researched therapy approach used to treat trauma, grief, anxiety, and other difficult life experiences.

Expert Guidance & Support

At every intensive, you’ll receive support from two clinicians with specialized training in perinatal mental health, trauma treatment, and EMDR. Every participant completes a consultation with a facilitator to make sure the intensive is an appropriate fit.

Meet Your Facilitators

You deserve expert-level care to support your healing. Our group intensives are led by two clinicians with specialized training in perinatal mental health, trauma treatment, and EMDR, who are passionate about providing effective care for women who have experienced trauma or loss in the perinatal period.

Sara Rader, LPC/MHSP

I'm Sara, and I am passionate about helping women heal from trauma & loss in pregnancy & postpartum. Through my work in perinatal mental health, I've supported women navigating fertility challenges, miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, traumatic births, NICU experiences, and the lasting effects these experiences can have on daily life.

As an EMDR-trained therapist, I've seen firsthand how trauma, grief, and loss can continue impacting women long after others expect them to have "moved on." That's one of the reasons I'm so passionate about offering group intensives. These experiences create space for meaningful healing in a way that is both focused and deeply supportive.

My hope is that every woman who attends feels understood, supported, and empowered as she dedicates time to healing.

Kara Guindin, LCSW, PMH-C

Hi! I’m Kara! I’m a perinatal therapist, trauma specialist, EMDR Certified Therapist and Consultant, and mom of two.

Becoming a parent reshapes us in ways that are profound, beautiful, and sometimes incredibly vulnerable. My own experience of motherhood deepened my understanding of how identity, relationships, and past experiences can resurface during this transition.

Throughout my work, one truth has remained clear: when people feel safe, seen, and truly known, they access a deep well of resilience and healing. I believe trauma symptoms are adaptive responses, not personal failures, and that healing is not about forcing calm, but about building safety, agency, and connection within yourself.

In these intensives, I help support a space where you can move at your own pace while engaging in meaningful, structured trauma processing alongside others who understand.
