A small, thoughtfully designed space for therapists to engage in their own work—with depth, clarity, and support.
EMDR Group Intensives for Therapists in TN
As therapists, we spend so much time holding space for others, often while holding our own pain & the vicarious trauma of our work.
But finding a place to process that, in a way that feels both clinically sound and genuinely supportive, isn’t always easy.
Hosted by Sara Rader (LPC/MHSP) & Kara Guindin (LCSW, PMH-C), these EMDR group intensives are designed specifically for therapists who want dedicated time to process personal or vicarious trauma, within a space that feels intentional, contained, and judgment-free.
This is not a training.
And it’s not consultation.
It’s a space for you to do your own work.
What you’ll experience here:
Each intensive is a 3-hour, small-group experience that integrates EMDR within a structured, supportive format.
Together, we create space to:
identify a specific target (past or present) that feels unresolved or “stuck”
engage in focused EMDR processing
move through material with support, without feeling rushed or overwhelmed
This format allows for a depth of work that often isn’t possible in weekly sessions, while still staying within your window of tolerance.
Each intensive is thoughtfully designed to help you make the most of the time in a focused, supported way.
Who this is for:
This experience may be a good fit if you:
are carrying aspects of personal or vicarious trauma that haven’t fully resolved
have struggled to find effective group work for your own healing, without worrying about running into a client
feel stuck in your own therapy, despite having strong insight and skills
want to engage in EMDR work for yourself in a space that feels both safe and focused
Clinicians deserve intentional, effective spaces to process their experiences, too.
What makes this different:
This isn’t traditional group therapy (where you may run into a client).
And it’s not a clinical training (where you learn a lot but don’t actually get to process your own stuff).
It’s a therapist-only EMDR processing space that is:
structured, but not rigid
gently paced, but still effective
focused on depth, without overwhelm
Groups are intentionally kept small to support a contained, high-quality experience where each participant has space for their own work.

FAQs
-
Both personal trauma & vicarious trauma experiences are appropriate issues for this intensive. You WILL NOT be asked or encouraged to share your trauma verbally with the group, so you can work on whatever is keeping you stuck most. We will chat about your goals in a free 20-minute screening call, but the rest of the group won’t know what target memory you are processing.
-
No prior experience or training in EMDR is necessary. Clinicians who aren’t EMDR-trained may find this intensive helpful in learning about the modality or deciding if you would like to pursue training in the future. EMDR clinicians will enjoy the opportunity to participate & receive the benefits of EMDR for themselves.
-
We utilize a specifically-designed group protocol for EMDR in this intensive. Each participant will process their chosen target memory silently while other participants are doing the same. You’ll feel the support of the facilitators and the rest of the group while you process, but you won’t be “put on the spot” or sharing details of your trauma aloud.
-
One advantage of the group protocol used here is silent processing. So even if you have a professional relationship with someone else in the group, they won’t know what target memory you’re processing. But you’ll feel the support of other therapists who get what you’re going through in the room while you do your own work.
